October and November 2014

Peggy Linton

The Geneseo Parish Outreach Center's Volunteer of the month for October and November is Peggy Linton, a paraprofessional at the center. She's been involved in this outreach ministry by checking in patients for their appointments, leaving telephone message reminders to clients, and picking up the new messages left on the dedicated phone line. Also, she is always on the "look-out" for potential volunteer staff members for this important and vital ministry.
Prior to her current volunteer efforts, Peggy was employed at the Geneseo Central School over a 30 year period, the last effort centered in the high school office of the principal's office. During that time frame, she was honored with recognition from two different graduating classes who dedicated their yearbooks to her. What an honor!
Married to David for the past 57 years, they are the parents of four children and boast a total of nine grandchildren. Peggy enjoys her bridge playing dates with other aficionados of the game and is frequently delivering a plate of homemade cookies to any and all in her life! Now, even our guests at the Northwest Neighborhood Parish Outreach Center dinners, provided bi-monthly by the Geneseo United Methodist Church, have gotten to "know" and taste her culinary delights!
She is one of the GUMC long-standing alto voices in the Adult Choir, serves as a Communion Steward, and is the piano player during their Morgan Estate's twice-monthly worship services. Additionally, she is a volunteer driver for Catholic Charities and visits a long-time friend, who resides at the skilled nursing facility in Mt. Morris, on a daily basis.
We are delighted to showcase Peggy Linton as our Volunteer of the Month! Thanks so much for your helpfulness!
