Ruth Briggs

The Geneseo Parish Outreach Center "Volunteer of the Month" is Ruth Briggs who was a charter member of its Board of Directors as well as a volunteer for the GPOC since its inception in 2004. She served as the group's secretary for almost four years and then became Financial Secretary with the responsibility of keeping track of all deposits. Ruth continues to serve as a "Jill of all Trades" in this medical setting, putting in numerous volunteer hours each month on a wide assortment of tasks.
Prior to her last 14 years of retirement, Ruth served as Senior Stenographer for the Livingston County Planning Board for 17 years. She has made Geneseo her home for the past 26 years, and has served in a number of capacities as a member of the Geneseo United Methodist Church. She was the United Methodist Women's president, vice-president, and secretary over the years and was also the Church's secretary of the Administrative Council (now called the Church Council) for two years. Currently, Ruth is the co-chair of the Church's Flower Fund Committee: which provides sanctuary flowers on the altar every week.
The mother of four children, Ruth's family also includes nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, who range in age from a tiny infant to seven years of age.
We congratulate Ruth on her selection as the Parish Outreach Center's "Volunteer of the Month," and extend our thanks for all of her efforts on behalf of this ministry.
